Eunice Paiva (played by Fernanda Torres who is Oscar nominated for her role ) is a mother of five children who is forced to reinvent herself after her family suffers a violent and arbitrary act by the government during a crackdown on dissent. The film is based on Marcelo Rubens Paiva's biographical book and tells the true story that helped reconstruct an important part of Brazil’s hidden history.
Set in 1971, the film follows Eunice (Torres) whose life is shattered when her husband is forcibly taken from their home by the military police, disappearing into the brutal machinery of dictatorship.
