BEFORE IT ENDS  film trailer HERE

M.  90 Min. Stars  Pilou Asbaek, Lasse Peter Larsen (outsanding as Soren) and Katrine Greis-Rosenthal

One of the major features of this film is the child's eye perspective given to the character Soren (a  stand out Lasse Peter Larsen) who's Father and Mother are placed in a very difficult position when the school they run in Denmark is turned into a  camp for 500 German refugees.

His father Jakob, (Pilou Asbæk- Game of Thornes) and his wife Lis (Katrine Greis-Rosenthal) at first give little apart from the mandatory assitance to the refugees and Soren sides with the Danish resistance's firm anti-German policy but as sickness admist the refugess, their views change. Especially when young children start to die.

Set in the final unforgiving months of WWII, this moving and  intelligent drama explores the unimaginable dilemmas that people must face in the wake of war.

Inspired by true events, it depicts a dark chapter in the history of Denmark - the handling of 250,000 German civil refugees who came to Denmark in the spring of 1945.

Written and directed by Academy Award-winner Anders Walter, BEFORE IT ENDS is a rewarding drama that delves into complex moral dilemmas through a family under pressure, exploring the limits of charity under pressure.

“What an even-handed, sensitive treatment of a difficult episode in Danish history this is”  The Guardian

" An intelligent and attractive film, endowed with extreme honesty and a lot of courage." IMDB
